Broadway Heights did a great job of making our decision to not renew our lease so easy. They had a complete lack of urgency, professionalism and communication regarding multiple matters. They tried to tell us AFTER we signed our lease that they had a pet policy stating that dogs must be one year or older in order to have them in the complex. We were never once informed nor saw this policy during the time of signing our lease. My husband and I would have never signed the lease in the first place if we had been given that information from the beginning as we had a deposit in for an 8 week old puppy months before we even started to search for a new apartment. Upon signing the lease, we were also told that the pet policy included a $350 pet deposit with $250 of that being refundable. Once it was finally approved that we could have the puppy per the information we were given and we brought our puppy home, the management then dropped on us that the pet policy had been changed since the signing of our lease and they now no longer accepted a deposit that was refundable but now was changed to a $250 fee. This change in policy was never once communicated and was sprung on us after we brought our puppy home. Upon being told we had to pay the $250 non-refundable fee, we inquired about that fee being pro-rated due to the fact there was only 3 months left in our lease agreement. We were told no and that the full fee was required for the short remainder of our stay. We had nothing but issues concerning our dog and all of it could have been avoided with better communication. But that was not the only issue that we had. After moving out in early September I had inquired about the process of getting our deposit returned. My husband and I were told at that time that our final water bill was taken from that deposit and paid by the property. Not a big deal but again a lack of communication as that was never explained when we started the process. Once receiving the security deposit and the itemized breakdown, it was shown that the property took an additional $75 for “texturing and painting”. Not only did my husband and I fill every single hole we made in the apartment (small nail/screw holes from hanging pictures and décor) but we spent over 3 hours the final night there cleaning the entire place. I inquired about this charge over a week ago to both members of management and have yet to receive a response. It has now been over a week since the inquiry was made. And finally there is a huge lapse in the rules being in place and actually being enforced. A few examples would be the piles of trash constantly laying all over the grounds, sidewalks, and parking lots, the people that felt the need to go ungodly speeds through the parking lots and the smell of drugs we encountered a majority of the time when we entered our building. This has been by far my worst experience ever renting and I would not ever recommend using a Hubbell Reality managed complex, I know that I certainly won’t ever again.
HOW MANY IDIOTS DOES IT TO TAKE TO MAKE A VILLAGE?????? THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH DECIMALS......... OBVIOUSLY ADEQUATE ENOUGH FOR THE VACANCY SIGN TO STAY ON...OR MAYBE THAT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED ..... LIKE TOO LATE TO COVER YOUR ASS .............

We live in a Hubbell-owned and -operated HOA, and they are literally the worst management company we have had to deal with in our long history of property managements and HOAs. They will take months to take any action on an issue, and usually they will just ignore you and never do anything to help. Countless times they have violated their own bylaws and not enforced their own rules (this is completely illegal, by the way). I've finally had my last straw and am currently considering my options for a more permanent solution to the problem that is Hubbell.
