Awful they wrote are visitation agreement so bad it's such a joke!
We have used Hope Law twice. The first to attempt a quick and easy no fault divorce which we were told would cost no more than $1,800 - that we paid in full up front ... we're currently still making payments on what ended up being $5,000!!!
My attorney was Steve at this law firm and he did not delivery what he promised for my child support case. Before, I secured his services, I discussed with him what I wanted from this law firm and he said no problem. In fact, Steve said at $1500 for CP, I should get money back because my case was simple case. I wanted credit for carrying my daughter on healthcare, and asked him if he needed a current pay stub from me to see my wages since the bio dad was trying to claim less than what the state said he made, Steve said he didn't need that. I basically had to hunt this lawyer down few days before court date to make sure we were on the same page, he said we were. Court day comes, cricket. No phone call on how it went. Called the law firm and after 4 attempts, spoke to his paralegal and she said judge increased the order to 444, which is only $55 increase. Now they want another $150 FOR WHAT? If I hadn't sought out hope law firm and went with Iowa Child Support unit, I would of saved myself $1500 for the same thing they did, and I still didn't get the health insurance credit that we use for my child. I really want my money back. Very unsatisfied at the results!
I would not recommend anyone who lives out of state to use this law firm.
Fast forward a few months and my husband was in an accident that totaled his vehicle and also was not at fault (other driver admitted at the scene to running the red light) we called Travis thinking well, we've worked with them before... Guess what, they never called us back. Go figure. I don't have any recommendations on who to chose instead, just take a moment to look else where is my advice.
Katie was very helpful during my stressful divorce. My ex was really dragging his feet and she made sure to keep pushing and keeping the ball rolling. She was always very prompt and informative whenever I had any questions or concerns. I would definitely recommend her and Hope Law Firm!
The second time was to assist in a personal injury/car accident for which I had already been determined 100% not a fault. I had all the bills/dates/communications/contact info in a binder that I handed over the first and only time I met with Travis Burke. I was already 6 months in and was told it shouldn't take to much longer. Seven months later and many many many un-returned phone calls and straight out lies from his legal assistance I finally got my settlement check. Awesome, great.. They took their 33% PLUS $98.00 for filing for my medical records. That was a a joke and felt like slap in the face. They received nearly $6,000 dollars of my settlement and still felt the need to charge me for my own medical records which I had in the binder... That I never got back!
