This store has everything you'll ever need when it comes to sports and outdoor related fun. They price match and offer guarantees on Scheels brand stuff. My only negative is that often times its hard to find staff to assist you, especially on the weekends.
In the last 6months, I had two different interactions. Both times they went above and beyond their call of duty at the West Des Moines Jordan Creek Store. Eric Riedinger Des Moines.
One of our favorite places to shop. Has all the brands the kids love, huge athletic and casual shoe collection. Great for workout clothes, casual clothes and beachwear. Husband loves the golf collection. Have purchased plenty of sports gear there also. Can buy pro and college team wear and memorabilia there. Camping equipment, hunting equipment, even toys. Super friendly and helpful staff. Just all around a great place.

Love this place. Can't visit Iowa without making a stop here. Better than cabelas and Bass Pro. Customer service is outstanding. I'm the proverbial "kid in a candy store" here. And EVERYONE that works here is so helpful. All other stores should model themselves after this store.
Had a pair of Scheels Outfitters hunting waders I bought a few seasons ago but never got to use them. I hunted all over central iowa looking for the ones I got, 5mm neoprene and 1600 grams of thinsulate in the boots. Between 3 or 4 stores they were the only ones that had what I wanted. Fast forward we never got back into duck hunting due to various reasons. This season we pulled the trigger and went all in. I had all my clothes and everything ready. Despite my well cared for waders my boots began to dry rot, on my first trip ever with them they leaked like crazy. I tried frantically to repair them because I invested almost 300 in them. After 4 outings and wet feet I decided I'd try to hold out until next season then replace them. I read some water forums and someone mentioned scheels products carry a team devoid warranty. I figured if they'd give me a basic pair of canvas it's warmer than wet feet. I went in and customer service said no problem, find a replacement. A gentleman told me the equivalent upstairs they'd exchange for. Satisfied that is at least have a dry feet without arguing or anything i figured all is well. Talking to a waterfowl specialist he said no the pair they offered is a downgrade (4mm and 800 grams of thinsulate). He said we don't have a straight equivalent and that what the other gentleman offered wouldn't do, it's not ok. He upgraded my exchange to a extremely nice pair of Branded waders. I was in absolute shock and dumbfounded that someone would do such a kindness. I mean Scheels stood behind their product and made a sour situation right even though they truly didn't have to(no receipt, no box, 2 plus years old). No problem, no question. Just amazing. Scheels has long been my favorite sporting goods store in central iowa. I don't foresee a place like cabelas or Bass Pro doing that(all due respect). Its just simply amazing to me, im so thankful to Mr. Adam Norton for being so great and the company for standing behind their product. You truly made my day and saved my season by doing this kindness. Thank you!
